Hi,
I'm trying to install spamassassin using the spamassassin wiki. To update the SpamAssassin matching patterns and to compile them (wiki 2.1), I have to run this command
[spamd]$ /usr/bin/vendor_perl/sa-update && /usr/bin/vendor_perl/sa-compileI'm confused about the [spamd]$: do I have to switch to the spamd user to run the command or can I just ignore it
and run it as root?

Isn't the whole idea behind putting it as it's own user so that you don't have to elevate?
I'd recommend a trial and error approach, if it would in any way pose a problem, I'd expect it to tell you that wherever you got the command from, or from the command itself.
Why I run Arch? To "BTW I run Arch" the guy one grade younger.
And to let my siblings and cousins laugh at Arsch Linux...
