Hey there,
for some while we're experiencing the following problem on multiple laptops. All of them couldn't be more different, one is a lenovo legion, the other a Dell XPS. But they all share this error and are similar in their setup
All of them run with:
- wayland
- pipewire
- wireplumber
All of them use the native zoom package from AUR.
now let's come to the bug.
Whenever we try to join a zoom meeting when the laptop is using the onboard mic and audio, audio and the mic will stop working easer immediately or after a short while in the meeting. It will then break the audio for everything else, not just zoom. Only way to revive it is, completely kill zoom and restart the audio session. This bug does not appear with meetings the browser or other programs we tested, only with zoom.
So we have been frustrated with this issue since some while, but we couldn't find any hint on solving it. Hoping anyone has good idea where else we can look for. Dmesg wasn't logging anything meaningful and also elsewhere we did not really find something indicating what could be the underlying issue. It does log something about a segfault though:

The really weird thing is, this does not happen, with any additional audio connected via usb.

I am using pulseAudio never had problems with zoom, but I did not test it with the the last zoom version and current kernel.

Would you
1. clean caches on ~ related with zoom
2. set disableCef=false at zoomus.conf and see journal again
3. try also zoom-system-qt
? Each workarounds are independent.
