Stuck Booting Black Screen Upper Left Cursor

Well I'm stuck. Can't figure out why it's not booting. It's three md raid arrays for /, /var and /home that are active and look fine in /proc/mdstat. This was a perfectly running system with Wayland/Wayfire. I installed pcman-qt file manager. it installed a bunch of stuff then after reboot the last thing on screen is:

arch-root: clean, 160723/10166272 files, 2178147/40665088 blocks

I redid:

mkinitcpio -P

grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=Arch

I'm using refind, it picks up the /efi/EFI/Arch/grubx64.efi and starts booting but then hang with black screen and cursor in upper left not blinking. Can't get any ttys. ctrl alt f1-12 do nothing. /etc/fstab looks correct, generated by genfstab -U /mnt >> /mnt/etc/fstab. I don't know what to check. I can boot on the livecd but I don't see anything in any logs. Any ideas? What can I check? Like I said, It used to work. Usually when there's a mount error it will timeout and tell you which it had trouble with but this never times out.

Re: Stuck Booting Black Screen Upper Left Cursor

You need to load what?
There're couple of threads reg. the latest mesa update shredding vmware and nouveau, but you should™ not have to explicitly load any "video drivers"
What exactly did you do?
