Switched from Gnome to KDE, SDDM black screen delay.

Just installed Arch with Gnome but I liked KDE from what I've seen. I did installed the necessary packages. Launching plasma through console but now I enabled SDDM. But whenever I enter my password in the login page, screen turns black for a few seconds then KDE loading screen pops up.

I already searched online, didn't really find enough to solve my problem usually just driver issues they were talking about. (Maybe it is a driver issue in my case).

edit: it says that I have to check /etc/sddm.conf.d but I cannot see sddm in the /etc directory

Re: Switched from Gnome to KDE, SDDM black screen delay.

Here's a couple questions:

Did you uninstall GNOME and all its components?

If you didn't, did you disable GDM? (The Gnome Display Manager, systemctl disable gdm.service)

It's possible there's a slight delay as SDDM is a generic Display Manager that KDE uses as its login manager. You can check journalctl to see if there's any errors that seem to point to SDDM or login.
