[SOLVED] KDE keeps crashing.

I keep getting a pop up saying "Plasma shell has stopped working unexpectedly".
I re installed KDE many times and the crashes keep happening. I am on WAYLAND.
here is the output of "journalctl -f |grep -iE "plasmashell|kwin|kde|plasma" just before it crashes.

Yes, this shows that the problem is the NVIDIA driver.

Maybe you are, but that process isn't.

I re installed KDE many times and the crashes keep happening.

On start or during the session?

I used the

grep -e Log -e tty Xorg.0.log

command mentioned on the Arch wiki and it came back with

No such file or directory

Also when i ran

qdbus6 org.kde.KWin /KWin org.kde.KWin.showDebugConsole

Plasmashell,Desktopand the bash konsole all came under the X11 windows. I do not know if that is normal or not.

Re: [SOLVED] KDE keeps crashing.

No such file or directory

Of course not. Don't copypaste blue boxes into an interactive shell.
Read the wiki, it'll explain where to find that file, then post the entire log - the grep there is just an example and completely useless here.

QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb

Why is that there?

QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb
Why is that there?

I do not know what it is or what it means. Is it worrying?

Re: [SOLVED] KDE keeps crashing.

It means you're starting a plasma wayland session but then run every single Qt client (incl. everything plasma) on xwayland - it is very unlikely what you want and the direct path in that backtrace.
Get rid of that variable.
Since

I do not know what it is or what it means.

you most likely copied that with someones dotfiles or whatnot.

Re: [SOLVED] KDE keeps crashing.

Thanks man, removing the variable has seems to have fixed it and the apps sow up under the wayland dropdown now rather than x1.

I have not coped anyone dotfiles. I have no idea how it got there. My Wayland did stop working one time and i used x11 for a bit, maybe that explains it? Never the less. Thanks for the help bro. It was bugging me for a while now.

Where was the variable set?

In /etc/environment/.

Re: [SOLVED] KDE keeps crashing.

pacman -Qo /etc/environment

Should™ belong to pam only? Were there no comments?
The entry didn't magically appear there, something or someone deliberately placed it there.
If it wasn't you, it was some script or pacman hook that placed it there, but whatever that was needs to be advised to stop that.

Shell does come back with

/etc/environment is owned by pam 1.7.0-2

There were no comments whatsoever. Just in a file with just that variable. Everything seems to be fine for now, It has not shown back up and i have not had any crashes.
