ssdm wont let me log in

hello everyone. this is the 2nd time installing Linux, and i decided to use hyprland as my WM and SSDM for my greeter. i type in my password correct but when i hit enter the screen flickers off then on and it doesn't log me in. this is a fresh install i just put on the PC so im not sure what i could've messed up. unfortunately i cannot provide logs as i cant access them. anything to help is appreciated.

Edit: sorry if this post is bad, it's my first time posting here as I've never had any issues with arch
