gamemode crashes Elden Ring Nightreign

Hello.
Elden Ring Nightreign crashes soon after its black startup screen appears when using the

gamemoderun %command%

launch option.

I am using Proton 9.0-4.

I am in the

gamemode

group.
Removing the launch option makes the game work fine.
I tried with another game "Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2" with the same launch option and Proton version and it works for that game.
I found an open issue on gamemode's GitHub repo about this for base Elden Ring, which is technically similar to Nightreign: https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode/issues/497

Damn I thought that those single code lines would appear inline. Is there a way to do inline code blocks on this forum?
