Hi there! I've installed cryfs on my arch system using pacman and get this message when using it:
> CryFS Version 1.0.1+0.g639c26aa.dirty
> WARNING! This is a development version based on git commit 639c26aa. Please do not use in production!
Is that a problem? Can I trust this version as much as I could a release version?

EDIT: I stand corrected, see post below mine. (thanks arojas)
---------------------
I've been using that same package to back stuff up into the cloud without issue for about 5 years.
I do however have scripts that make local backups of any data that I store in those encrypted containers just in case it craps out and I loose all the data in any given container.
I did a bit of research before using it which stated there could be sudden and complete data loss when using Cryfs, this is what caused me to make sure I had at least a secondary backup of the data and is the reason I only ever use it to store an encrypted copy of data on Cloud storage to maintain privacy in case of an account breach or to stop whatever commercial entity from scraping my data and selling it off to Meta or whoever.
My secondary (or primary copy depending on how you look at it) I store on disks with full disk data-at-rest encryption which all of my computers now have, similar to Mac OS (FileVault I think) and Windows (Bit Locker).
Hope that helps.

It's not a development version. That message is displayed because the package is built from the git repo, not from a released tarball.
