I have verified iso's signature and checksum, and used dd command to prepare an usb pendrive,  which booted quite smoothly but ended  by printing the following message upon login in:

 root@archiso ~ # [ 45.773866] pcie_mp2_amd 0000:04:00.7 amd_sfh_hid_client_init failed err -95

i then booted on an intel machine, just as a test and there was of course no amd-related error, nor any other error.

I imagine this error should not have major implications for a simple installation, but my ambition is to some day configure this machine, which is the only modern one I own as a DAW for my music studies, and since I am a beguinner at Arch Linux (but not at Linux) I would appreciate counsel on this matter.

Did you also try older isos from https://archive.archlinux.org/iso/?

No, I did not think of that. Thanks, I will try it.
