Reverting to xorg 7.1

Hi is it possible to revert to xorg 7.1 without causing the system to crash ?
I want to revert to xorg 7.1 because i use an ATI Radeon 9200 graphic card
which is unsupported on xorg 7.2 by propriety drivers.

That card should work fine with the xf86-video-ati driver.

I'd also like to know if there is an easy way to revert to xorg 7.1. The open source driver does not seem to support  the Xpress 200 very well.

yes i know, but that driver doesn't support TV-Out for instance and many other
useful things.

Re: Reverting to xorg 7.1

I was able to resurrect my setup from packages at /var/cache/pacman/pkg. I downgraded xorg-server, kernel26 (which also required a downgrade of ndiswrapper) and, finally, ati-fglrx and ati-fglrx-util to 8.29.6.
The downgrade process went smoothly. Unfortunately, the flgrx driver still fails to pick up my custom modeline, leaving me with an unusable laptop.
Damn! That's frustrating!

Maybe someone could (Arch Developers for instance :-) make Xorg 7.1 packages available for downloading
for the owners of old ATI cards smile
