file exist in filesystem

At some point during an upgrade - apache and apr-util caused errors because of 'file exists in filesystem'. I tried using 'pacman -Sf apache apr-util' which seemed to work, but it has never registered that they were infact updated. For later updates I have had to use --ignore on them - but they still come up in every sysupgrade :-(

I tried to remove those packages and then sync them in again - still had to use 'force'.

By now I have a score of packages which come up each time I do a sysupgrade, they install fine even though they allready have been updated.

I am sure this question has come up several times - but could someone please tell me how to 'reset' the whole dang thing? Plueeeeze!

I love arch, but sometimes an upgrade hiccups and even though it gets sorted out real quick - the damage is allready done.

Thanks
