I have faced a couple of problems using my Gigabyte M32U:
1) I cannot select 3840x2160@144Hz. Now i can select modes up to 3840x2160@120Hz only.
2) GPU MCLK stuck at 96Mhz with freesync enabled.
The main problem I'm trying to solve is the mclk getting stuck.
I followed the guide to fix that but couldn't find my current resolution record for editing in edid:

AMD has been forbidden from implementing HDMI 2.1 in the open drivers. You might not be able to get around this at all. For 3840x2160@144Hz you'd need 2.1 HDMI protocol cabability on the cable and on the operating system: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Refr … dard_video . You can't get the latter on amdgpu. Yes it's stupid politics and greedy license disputes. Your best bet is switching to displayport if possible.
As for the clocking issue, there are currently some general bugs there in the kernel since 6.15. Instead of fiddling with the EDID, does setting the power profile to high help? https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU … nce_levels

Unfortunately, I can only switch to USB4 which is iGPU output. I tested it, and yep, 3840x2160@144Hz + freesync works. However, this had a 20% performance hit and noticeable input lag.
I tested different things, video outputs, and power profiles. I'm not sure what exactly did the trick, but now 3840x2160@120Hz + freesync works flawlessly through HDMI and auto profile.
So I'll stick with this setup. Thanks a lot for the info!
