KDE / Wayland freezes with more than one monitor attached

After entering my luks password, sddm displays and freezes, with cursor stuck in position. TTYs dont respond and I have to reboot.
The only ways I've found that work is either adding nomodeset to my boot parameters, or disconnecting my two additional displays then reconnecting them after logging into the desktop.

I've tried it with only two monitors (not three), setting all monitors to 60hz (primary is 120hz), turning off HDR, and changing my primary display.
I don't have X11 installed so I haven't tried it.
GPU is an AMD RX 7900XTX.

I'm not sure if this started happening with kernel 6.14.x or with the linux-firmware package changes, but I suspect its the kernel.
I first updated on 13 June, after hours of testing, I ended up doing a package downgrade on the kernel to restore the system.
Attempted another update on 22 June along with the "upgrade requires manual intervention" instructions to fix the linux-firmware change, and the issue returned.

I've been using

pacman -Syu

or

yay

for any updates.

Here's my system log of an attempt to boot with all monitors attached.

Re: KDE / Wayland freezes with more than one monitor attached

Log stops at the journal sync after the root switch - when you probably rebooted w/ the power button.
Don't.
Can you switch the VT when things get stuck?
If not, reboot by frenetically pressing ctrl+alt+del or the https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Keyboa … el_(SysRq) (but I don't think that'll be necessary)

What I can already say is that this is a hybrid system, and no outputs seem to be attached to the Granite Ridge GPU.

Since SDDM defaults to X11, please also post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General

Re: KDE / Wayland freezes with more than one monitor attached

I should've prefaced this that this is a friends system, who's new to Linux and the arch forums so I was posting on his behalf.

Anyway, his btrfs filesystem shot itself late yesterday so while I would've liked to diagnose the problem, he's gone ahead with a reinstall.

Thanks for your prompt response Seth!

Re: KDE / Wayland freezes with more than one monitor attached

You probably want to report the thread for the dustbin, then.
