[SOLBED] kio-fuse not installing properly

I'm able to see files mounted on smb shares on the network using dolphin.  I'm no longer able to interact with them using the associated applications.

kio-fuse installs from pacman:

#  pacman -Qs kio-fuse
local/kio-fuse 5.1.0-5
    FUSE interface for KIO

Pacman installs with no obvious error.  But

ls -l /usr/lib/kio-fuse

yields a "No such file or directory" message.  The package description says it's supposed to be there.

Is this a broken package, or did I bork something?

EDIT:  something borked -- had to regenerate my Locale unexpectedly.
