Keyboard problem

Hi folks,

arch64 0.8

On running ''xorgconfig'' to xorg.conf. 

On the keyboard section;
# cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf

...
    Identifier     "Keyboard1"
    Driver         "kbd"
    Option         "AutoRepeat" "500 30"
# Specify which keyboard LEDs can be user-controlled (eg, with xset(1))
    Option         "XkbRules" "xorg"
    Option         "XkbModel" "pc104"
    Option         "XkbLayout" "jp"
...

Some keys can't response properly.

Then I changed "pc104" as "pc101" and "jp" as "gb".  Still some keys are wrong, such as;

pressing / key,  the output is #
pressing " key,  the output is @
pressing @ key, the output is "
etc.

But not all keys are wrong.  Please advise how to fix the problem.  TIA

use "uk" instead of "gb", in /etc/rc.conf, and xorg.conf.

You can also do this through gnome or KDE settings in keyboard settings, add the UK layout and delete the default one.

What's the difference between UK and GB layout?  I found UK didn't work properly for me.

You might also want the pc105 model?  I don't know if that's commonly what GB keyboards are, but mine is at least.

Tks for your advice.

I changed to "us" on both /etc/rc.conf and /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

The keyboard is working correctly now.

I don't know the difference, but for all keys on my laptop to work right it is uk, and for my desktop it is gb, I was just giving the alternative incase.
