not really, grab a theme or two off hewphoria to see what the syntax is like in practice.

basically you need to make a picture (xpm,png, etc) for the buttons you want and the 8 corner/sides (you don't need a full 8 though, just it will ask you to specifiy the pic for each obviously left side and right side can be the sam pic etc...)(as opposed to say floxbox where you can just specify a color) then futz around with the fonts.

been with xfce4 for a long while now, finding it a good place between the the utterly stark and the highly elaborate. 
However, its always been kinda makeshift. the lesser of the evils.
Many thanks to Dusty for pointing to pekwm. the combination of simplicity and versatily has won me over.
Especially having struggled with the menu config recently under xfce4.
think too that this will be as permanent as Arch on the PC's now. smile
