Help on getting to work some hardware

Hi, i have some hardware-related problems.
I want to get work a printer: Samsung ML-1210
and my lightscribe CD/DVD Writer: LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-16H5S

And i use gnome. Is there a good lightscribe writer for gnome. Well if there isn't such a like writer for gnome, then K3B goes.
Here we are going to software... How i make k3b or something to write this lightscribe laser stuff?

If i cant get these to work under linux, then i am going to use windows again, i am sure that nobody wants it.

Re: Help on getting to work some hardware

Maybe you want to take a look here:
http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cg … ng-ML-1210 and here
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CUPS_Setup

and maybe you learn to use google!
For your k3b problem a little bit more information would be great.

Greetings
eSpo

Somehow printer doesn't work now. Computer says it's installed but printer is quiet, and these jobs are stopped too...
(they could not resume)

For LightScribe you might want to check this page: http://www.lacie.com/company/news/news.htm?id=10293 (download is here: http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10803). The AUR package page however says it doesn't work atm.

Hmm, problems with RPM-s (i don't like these rpm-s)

But do you have a lightscribe writer. And if answer is yes, then do you have got it to work?

E: Both of my requests were working on debian. Printer via gui and lightscribe of alien converting.
And now it's arch'es turn... (does anyone have a working package of LS?)
Got Printer working....
Hmm, my lightscribe stuff does'nt work now. 4L is working but doesn't regonize my LightScribe Drive. Still waiting for reply....
