I'm trying to work my way towards building a Pi based streaming box with attached DAC. Thought I'd look at some of the software components to get a bit familiar.
So, I installed the lyrionmusicserver-bin on my Arch box (because other versions won't build, citing PERL version errors, despite I have the correct versions) but... and maybe I'm just being dumb as a rock here...
HOW do I run it? Their "guide" contains zero information beyond "install the package" and "now go to http://localhost:9000" That's it!
A quick cmd for open/used ports shows no such thing.
What did I miss? What do I need to do to get this server running?

Not sure if it runs I a Pi but I use Navidrome for my music server on a Arch Box.

oh! This is interesting.
1: the folks over on the Lyrian forum are being helpful. I've currently narrowed it down to finding why the service failed. Don't have a solution as yet, but it's progress. It took asking there for anyone to provide (the presumed obvious) step to enable a system service! Would have helped if this was in their "getting started" guide!
2: in fact I only got to LMS because a kind user elsewhere suggested it as being compatible with pCP on a Pi - since I'm wanting to have local control (tablet, touchscreen, something) over the music on my PC, but get to select and play it away from the keyboard.
Since I've found "Squeezer" (android app to control servers) in fact I could skip the Pi stage if I can access my library via my tablet. I'll indeed look at Navidrome. Less money I have to spend the better, even if I was/am mildly looking forward to fiddling with a Pi and some software.

what does this mean please "moving to AUR"? Is my post now somewhere else?? How can I continue to view it and discuss? This was actually a VERY productive thread already.

Your thread was moved from whichever-subboard-it-was-in to the AUR Issues, Discussion & PKGBUILD Requests subboard.
lyrionmusicserver-bin is an AUR package and moderator policy is to keep issues with those separate from issues with stuff from official repos.
Did you look at the comments on its aur page before asking upstream ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Thank you, I understand now.
No, I hadn't seen those, but partly because since posting, I ended up being able to compile it (by downgrading my PERL version), so I was no longer using the pre-built. This said, yes I had the exact same issue as no. 2.
Will look into that further, but finally it will be installed on a Pi 4, with pCP, so maybe I won't have those issues?
