bcachefs - how about offering out-of-tree bcachefs kernel ?

Hello Dears,
the drama with bcachefs continues - changes are not merged in 6.17, and they talk about its removal in 6.18.
How about users getting what they want here ?
One option is  for ArchLinux to release extra kernel with the latest (git repo) out-of-tree bcachefs kernel module and bcachefs-tools packages.

Thanks. I am nervous about dkms kernel coming from AUR in light of recent revelations about malware compromises. Serious matter !
I personally would prefer a kernel prepared/reviewed/vetted by Arch's pros.

The whole malware thing wasn't all that subtle, it was pretty easy to see if you actually looked at the package files.

My guess is that *if* bcachefs gets removed, there's a chance a dkms module could end up in the repos. While it's part of the kernel, not happening.

Regarding dkms vs pre-built bcachefs kernels:
https://www.phoronix.com/forums/forum/s … ost1568534

As I indicated, the bcachefs is already grounded at the start of 6.17 cycle (3 months of lost fixes (incl. data repair code, which became the reason for the drama), testing, and user experience). The bcachefs dev wanted to remove the "experimental" tag by end of 6.17 too.
Me thinks there is a good case for stepping in with an extra Arch kernel solution already in 6.17 cycle, i.e. now.

bcachefs; dkms and users distributions:
There is a clarity about what next.

Looking forward to have it in *-testing repos first.
