Arch websites slow or unresponsive

for some reason, specifically the aur website is extremely laggy and sometimes crashes with the message

aur.archlinux.org to long to respond

for me and paru just hangs or is incredibly slow, there is no problem with any other website just the aur specifically

Re: Arch websites slow or unresponsive

Yeah, AUR, both the website and git access, is currently very, very slow, and times out constantly

Re: Arch websites slow or unresponsive

It would appear that it has gone back down again. Status shows "Down" and any attempt to connect times out.

Re: Arch websites slow or unresponsive

It's still intermittent. Getting TLS handshake timeouts sometimes, i/o timeouts other times. Works yet other times.

I picked a heck of a day to wipe my fedora install and return to Arch.

Re: Arch websites slow or unresponsive

While I’m writing this post, people in #archlinux still report connectivity issues.

Supposedly no trouble, if the server is accessed over IPv6. May be a temporary workaround for some.

Is it retaliation from those who tried to add malware in some PKGBUILDs?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: Arch websites slow or unresponsive

I think it's good again, our hosting provider has implemented a network-level block for the malicious packet streams.

While the AUR and most services seem to work fine, it's now the main site that gives trouble: https://stats.uptimerobot.com/vmM5ruWEAB/788139636

Re: Arch websites slow or unresponsive

Seems like some bored scriptkiddies are trying to DDoS various Arch websites. Check https://status.archlinux.org.

Mod note: merging a couple of topics about this and moving to Arch Discussion.

Re: Arch websites slow or unresponsive

I haven't had any access issues today, but the Packages - site does not update anymore (for nearly 24 hours now, the last updated package shown is https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … rg-xgamma/ )
Is that already known?
