xkeyboard-config update 2.44 -> 2.45 could deserve a news entry ?

Hi,
I post here to ask if the arch team could write a note in the news about the "recent" (2-3 months I guess, sorry to wake up late...) update of xkeyboard-config, that symlink /usr/share/X11/xkb to /usr/share/xkeyboard-config-2.

I updated my laptop today after some months "out of internet".
I have a custom package to add a keyboard layout to /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols (even though it's not a good practice, it's the only one that worked for me to have my layout available to kde without forking official packages... custom keyboard layout accross all GUI is another great problem we have also, but not the topic of my post).

Another bad practice I used was to rm -rf the /usr/share/X11/xkb since overwrite does not work for symlinks to force the update. Since my keymap was not working (was deleted by the rm), I just reinstalled my keymap package with overwrite. However that removed the symlink and made X11 refuse to start.

I'm glad to have been an arch user for 15 years (doing mistakes by overconfidence...), so I was able to track down the problem and solve it... But I think a news entry may have saved the hassle.

Since keymap problems can easily become a nightmare, and since this package is used by near everybody, I am wondering if this update should deserve news entry about the new symlink ?

regards, leo.

Breaking changes like a path move or symlink in a core package can easily trip up custom setups , so a short news entry would help users avoid exactly this kind of issue. Maybe you could also file a heads-up on the bug tracker or mailing list to suggest adding such notes in the future.
