The keyboard and mouse that plug in to laptop need to wake up to work

Hi guys, I want to use my laptop to with external keyboard and mouse. However, when I try to use it, I found out that I need to wake it up. For example, when I don't type in any word with keyboard for about 5 seconds, I will need to press a key to start typing, that is, the initial input won't be registered. In addition, I will need to press my mouse key to make the cursor move. Initially, I thought it is a problem with auto-cpufreq then I disabled it. However, the problem persist. Thanks for any help!

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … utosuspend but if those are wireless devices they may come w/ internal power saving as well.
