Unable to login on second seat (loginctl multiset setup)

Hey there,

I am trying to get my multiseat setup working, which "kind-of" worked the last time I used it, which is maybe a year or so.

I am/was using loginctl to create a new seat (seat1) which takes control of my AMD internal GPU and a USB Port, to which a hub with mouse/keyboard/soundcard is connected.
On the software side I use KDE Plasma on Wayland for user on seat0 and KDE Plasma on X11 for user on seat1.
I used lightdm as Display Manager.

When trying to log in to Plasma/Wayland on seat1, the screen would go dark and threw me back to lightdm.
So I just used Plasma/X11 on seat1.

Now I was trying to do the same, but there is no more Plasma on X11 available......so I tried several things, but to no avail.

LightDM + KDE + Wayland: Black screen, return to LightDM
LightDM + Weston: Black screen, return to LightDM

SDDM + Anything: Complete system freeze, even on seat0

GDM + Anything: seat1 freezes but returns to GDM once I terminate the session from seat0

The two Users are in identical groups like "video, audio, input, wheel"
I also switched the users....so the user for seat1 can login on physical seat0 while the user for seat0 cannot log into physical seat1.

Both systemctl and dmesg show no anomalies.

You got any Ideas?

Skip all DMs, god knows what HW they'll end up occupying and then tell either kwin instance which GPU to use, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/KDE#Me … -specific)
