I noticed while I was attending a video call in my browser, that my laptop's internal microphone is not working. Yes I have checked all permissions and checked the microphone source on the application.
Outside the browser I have tried recording input with "aplay" utility but on playing the recorded file there is no output.
I have tried and scoured all of existing solutions, but nothing seems to be working.
Btw the speaker works but the mic exclusively doesn't work.
As a side note I operate the Hyprland window manager, just in case somebody can pin the error to this utilization of a WM instead of a full-blown desktop environment.

**The microphone indeed did not have any problem running on a Windows installation**
