thunar-volman: howto set fmask/dmask mount options

Hi,

Well, as the title says really. With gnome and the gnome auto mounter you could always set the mount options with gconf-editor, but with thunar/thunar-volman I can't find where I to set mount options like fmask and dmask.

Cheers,
Phil

you can add dmask/fmask options in /etc/fstab

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

I know, but the devices aren't listed in /etc/fstab.

In the configuration of hal you can specify what are valid options, in the configuration of the thing that does the actual mounting you should be able to set any of those options that have been marked as valid in the hal configuration

if you set udev to mount the devices you can make it mount them with dmask and fmask set. that's what i did, so when i umount hamster, i have to turn off and on, so that it is udev who mounts, not kde.

Re: thunar-volman: howto set fmask/dmask mount options

The auto-mounting functionality from thunar seems a myth to me.

So I suggest you just abandon it:
install thunar-volman and "un-check" all the auto-mounting, auto-playing functionalities, and hope it won't bother again.

Use ivman, autofs, pmount, or udev auto-mounting, instead.

Best regards.
