I tried to open blender, which I installed weeks ago with pacman and today it stopped working. I searched for it on google and found this thread, after I tried to launch it from the terminal I got this error:
blender: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libusd_ms.so: undefined symbol: _ZTIN17MaterialX_v1_39_37ElementEThat is the same error that they got.
I checked the version of the packages that are disused in the thread that I linked and I had this.
> pacman -Q usd materialx
usd 25.08-4
materialx 1.39.4-1Then I proceed to install a previous version of materialx (1.39.3-1) and blender opened normally.
I know this post is basically the same as the one I linked but I don't know if it is fine to revive an old thread.
Sorry if I wrote something weirdly, english is not my first language.

Same here. I’m pretty sure it will be fixed soon. Until then it’s probably the best option to exclude materialx from updates – this can be done in pacman.conf
english is not my first language. If you find a mistake in this post, please mention it in your reply – this way I can learn. TIA

Have you logged a bug report so the devs know there is a problem? You can't assume they read this forum

Already reported, I'm currently trying to fix it https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … /issues/36

No, I didn't because I don't know how to. I just started using Arch a month ago, so, I'm still learning.

Should be fixed now with blender 17:4.5.3-2 and usd 25.08-6 (though it might take a bit more time to reach your mirror)

Looks like it's fixed now, updated the system and now blender opens normally. Thank you.
