systemd without systemd-boot for limine?

I recently learned about limine bootloader, and I'd like to try it. However, I don't want two bootloaders on my system at once. Despite my searches I can't find a way to install systemd without systemd-boot. I typically use systemd as my service manager. I'm aware that I could have both installed at the same time and have no issues, but there's a little voice in the back of my head that freaks out if I have one unneeded package on my system. If I can't use systemd without systemd-boot, is runit or openRC a viable option for arch? Or am I better off choosing another distro? I would like to keep the AUR but I may be able to manage without it.

where did you got this from?
i use grub, others refined - and even syslinux works - you don't have to ise systemd-boot for a systemd based system

Re: systemd without systemd-boot for limine?

wiki: "systemd-boot is shipped with the systemd package which is a dependency of the base meta package."
So you are right, systemd-boot can't be uninstalled easily.

But you are not forced to use it - meaning you don't need to setup it in your EFI partition.
I haven't checked, but I guess it occupies only a few KB on your drive - so don't worry and simply use your favorite boot manager :-)

Edit:
Have a look at
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/System … components
There are some further systemd components, some already installed, but I'm sure you don't use them all as well.
