I have an interesting problem when I plug in my 3.5 mm headphone jack into my laptop. The headphones are not detected and when I force the switch on with `pavucontrol`, it lists it as Headphones (unplugged). I get a sound when I change volume. I have to change the audio backend on Strawberry to 'Plays audio to a pulse audio server' and explicitly choose the device and then it works there. However, in Firefox and mpv, the sound is dead.
The audio device in question is: Realtek ALC245. Apparently, it's known to have this exact issue, but there aren't any elegant solutions that I can find.
`qpwgraph` doesn't ever show the headphones, either.
I should mention that my speakers and bluetooth headphones work great. Any 2.5 mm jacked headphones I have, however, do not. And, yes, all of my studio monitor headphone work on all other Linux machines, as well as on analogue audio devices.
I have the following programs installed:
pipewire-pulse
pipewire-jack
pipewire-alsa
pipewire-session-manager
pipewire-audio
wireplumber
alsa-utils
alsa-firmware
pavucontrolAny help to this baffling situation would be welcome, as always.
Edit: I just discovered that it works only under the `Pro Audio` profile. I have no idea why this and not the others.
