I seem to have input some weird sequence of characters or something (possibly involving F3?), and now all terminals, including the system terminal, have been treating ESC differently. It always eats the next character. I think it's now treating ESC as starting an escape sequence, although I'm not sure about that. What's weird though is that this problem is affecting every possible kind of terminal on my system, including the system terminals you access with Ctrl+Alt+Fx. So it's not just an X issue, it seems like I somehow changed my system to always have this behavior with ESC. I also tried rebooting and updating but the problem still persists. Upon googling, it seems that this is how some terminals are supposed to operate, but I don't want it, and none of my terminals used to do this. I've looked in various settings and things trying to figure out if some option got changed without me telling it to but I haven't been able to find anything. I didn't change any configs or anything around the time the problem started. Does anybody know what I did and how to go back to how it was before?
