I make updates everyday on Arch Linux, and since today the builtin speaker of my laptop is „not available“ according to `pactl`.
In practice it means that the output is set in „Headphones“ mode and not in „Speakers“ (which is described as „not plugged in“), that if I try to set it up as the default output in „Speakers“ mode in KDE it automatically changes to another one (but only after I briefly hear the currently playing audio), and if it’s the only one then it just doesn’t work and mpv tries to connect in a loop or something (at least mpv appears and disappears in KDE sound parameters and pavucontrol).
But somehow I can manually assign an application to the output in „Speakers“ mode and it works normally, I just can’t use the output as the default one (which is very annoying). Also I still can’t figure out why my microphone isn’t working, but probably the same issue. (it’s a Lenovo Thinkpad using the snd_hda_intel driver)
I tried a few thing, e.g. removing ~/.local/state/wireplumber, or using hdajackretask and the info looks correct at first glance. By tinkering with that, I managed to make it work as my default output, but it broke the auto-switch to my headphones when I plug them, so it’s not a very satisfying answer…
