mutt with qzip patch

Hey guys,

I'd like to use gzip with mutt.

I've only tried applying a patch with a PKGBUILD a couple of times, and never did get the hang of it.
Here is the PKGBUILD, and here is the patch.

Little help, please?  :-)

You may want to consider using muttng instead of mutt.  The PKGBUILD also has a lot more patching in the build(), so you could probably use the examples to your benefit.

Re: mutt with qzip patch

Thanks.

I thought of that, and even tried it--but I had some problems converting my mutt config to muttng.  There's a perl conversion script floating around somewhere, but it didn't do anything that I could tell.  If no one has a magic wand they can wave over my .muttrc and .mutt/ directory, I'll look at the muttng PKGBUILD for patching hints.

magic wand?  anyone?

Re: mutt with qzip patch

forget the wand.  I was almost successful with my patching attempt, but not quite, so I just got muttng.  I must not have been holding my mouth right or something the first time I tried, because it was easy.  Gzipped mailboxes are great.

I just sqeezed a 14 meg mbox file down to 3.9 megs, and mutt treats it just like a regular mailbox.  Nice.

Re: mutt with qzip patch

Little bit OT:
Could someone enlighten me about the current status of the muttng-Developement? Is it still "dead" or back running?

Todays mistakes are tomorrows catastrophes.
