This is more of a bug report, but I do not have an account for the bug tracker.
Core issue is that ibus makes pressing left shift unreliable as just tapping it sends two key press and release events (similar to https://github.com/ibus/ibus/issues/2764). I have a game (World of Warships) where shift is used in the core game play loop to switch between modes (aim and navigation) and is therefore pressed up to several times per second. I uninstalled ibus by ignoring dependencies and had not had any breaking bugs in gnome so far - so is it possible to downgrade ibus to an optional dependecy for gnome-shell?
