Acer Laptop ACPI - Wireless Card

Hey all,

I am having a problem getting the acer_acpi module to compile. The reason I need this is to be able to enable the internal wireless card. Sometimes when I boot my laptop the wireless card isn't detected (it is turned off internally), sometimes when I boot it it gets detected fine. It usually stops detecting if the laptop shuts down due to power loss.

The problem is getting it to start detecting on boot...so far I have just restarted the laptop several times and finally it starts detecting again...I didn't know that it was ACPI until I read about the acer_acpi kernel module, that creates a /proc/acpi/acer/wireless node that you can turn on.

The problem is getting this module to work.

I install the acer_acpi package from AUR (modifying the kernel version in the PKGBUILD to 2.6.19-beyond). I try to modprobe but:  "Error inserting acer_acpi: No such device".

In dmesg:
acer_acpi: No WMI Interface, unable to load.

My laptop is an Acer TravelMate 2310.

Any ideas on what to do?
