I have an Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 13 (model 21NS). I am trying to use it with the Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 dock Gen 2 to drive 2 external monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse.
I have confirmed that the dock, cable, and all peripherals work on another laptop (Dell XPS 9350, also Arch) as well as on the X1 running Windows 11 Pro. I also confirmed that both Thunderbolt ports work on the laptop under Windows.
I updated all available firmware using Lenovo Vantage under Windows before installing Arch.
On the Dell, I have disabled Thunderbolt and enabled USB-C override in UEFI. On the Thinkpad, there is only the option to disable Thunderbolt.
If I enable Thunderbolt, I get no screens and no peripherals. If I disable Thunderbolt, I get screens but still no peripherals.
Output of dmesg, etc. on XPS 9350 (working)
Output of dmesg, etc. on X1 (not working)
As a sanity check, I tried plugging in a simple USB-C hub (2 USB-A ports and HDMI out). It works on the Dell but also does not work on the Lenovo. Again, no output in dmesg detecting the hub itself, never mind attached peripherals.
Any ideas about where to look next or information about this issue that I have missed would be appreciated.
