[SOLVED] FM2-A75MA-P33 A8-5500: "bootloops" + "[ohci-pci] HC died"

Just a quick update to confirm that the solution found in 2023 is still valid today.

I was encountering bootloops happening halfway the Late Userspace phase and ohci errors in the Early Userspace phase.

hardware + kernel:

• motherboard = MSI FM2-A75MA-P33 (MS-7721)

• cpu = AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics

  • CPU family:              21

  • Model:                   16

• ethernet = 01:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8211/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller [10ec:8168] (rev 06)

  r8169

• kernel ($ uname -ors) = Linux 6.17.1-arch1-1 GNU/Linux

2025 /etc/default/grub:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="radeon.dpm=0 module_blacklist=ntfs3,radeon,uas cpufreq.default_governor=conservative"

2025 /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf:

install radeon /bin/true
install ntfs3 /bin/true
install uas /bin/true
