Bluetooth mutes audio even if it should not do so

I am using bluetooth headphones from Sony (WF-C700N). They are connected to my Samsung phone and Arch Linux at the same time. If I open an application that might play audio (Cookie clicker, Youtube, ...) on my Phone arch mutes the audio even if no audio is actually playing on the Phone. This is obviously annoying and does not happen when I use the same setup with MacOS so I think it's some setting related to bluetooth on Linux. Any pointers on how I could solve this? I am using pipewire + pipewire/pulse.

Re: Bluetooth mutes audio even if it should not do so

Youtube, ...) on my Phone arch mutes the audio...

then are you able to unmute it when youtube still open? without repairing/resetting connection?

If so then BIND mute/unmute to some keyboard shortcut programmaticially and ignore everthing.

Otherwise deep dive to linux bluetooth stack and pipewire/pulse. refer archwiki.
