i'd like to start off by stating that my speakers are not broken themselves
i am running 6.17.5-arch1-1 on an MSI Thin GF63 12VE (laptop) with KDE plasma 6.5.0 -- wayland (specs if relevant: intel i7-12650H, 32GB ram, intel iGPU. NVIDIA 4050 laptop GPU)
this problem is a come and go problem that randomly appears and disappears without a seeming pattern other than the fact it's linked to system updates, it does not fix itself with re-installs of the operating system nor do any of the things i tried seem to solve it
i originally had pipewire when the problem first occurred several months ago switched to pulseaudio, completely reinstalled the whole system with both pipewire and pulseaudio then gave up and left pulseaudio installed which somehow fixed itself and then broke again today right after doing a complete system update so i switched to pipewire without reinstalling arch which is were i resign now and it didn't solve the problem
i would like not to go back to pulseaudio and just make pipewire work the way i switched was by manually removing <pulseaudio pulseaudio-alsa pulseaduio-bluetooth> then installing pipewire using pipewire-pulse
i then also made sure to have installed and update the following packages: asla-utils sor-firmware linux-firmware linux-firmware-cirrus linux-frimware-intel alsa-firmware pipewire lib32-pipewire pipewire-alsa jack
i have also at some point deleted ~/.local/state/wireplumber/ but after more tinkering it has returned
here is the result "systemctl --user status pipewire wireplumber pipewire-pulse pulseaudio" currently gives me:
