Re: VirtualBox works on some machines others it gives an oops

What is your host system? If it is Windows 11 25H2 I have the same problem. Does the VirtualBox guest run in Green Turtle Mode?

Host system is Arch.  Even trying to do a simple DOS disk, well it oops just starting up the VM.  While it works fine on another Arch.

Kill virtualbox and try to start Virtualbox again and it doesn't even get to the GUI.

Re: VirtualBox works on some machines others it gives an oops

On the machines that are failing, it looks like there is a message in dmesg:

vboxdrv: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel

They are both rt kernels

While the working one is stock arch kernel.

Stock arch kernel has a virtual box stock kernel host modules package.

The failing machines are also running the dkms hosting modules for virtualbox.

Looks like the problem might be with dkms, as there is no arch host modules package for linux-rt.

Even though I don't remember having to do this before with dkms modules, maybe this?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Virtua … gn_modules

This step seems to be for custom kernels though.

May need to add module signing process to dkms package?

Re: VirtualBox works on some machines others it gives an oops

That message means nothing to this issue. The kernel being tainted is normal.
