Hello, I just installed arch for the first time and i'm running KDE plasma but ran into a problem i had when I tried Kali linux.
The touch pad doesn't work, I googled and used AI to troubleshoot this but it kept taking me in circles.
here are the results of some commands to give you an idea
xinput list sudo libinput debug-events. sudo libinput list-devices.
I edited /etc/default/grub to have GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet i8042.nomux=1 i8042.reset i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop psmouse.synaptics_intertouch=1" then sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
uname -a yealds : Linux arch 6.17.5-zen1-1-zen #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu, 23 Oct 2025 18:48:45 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I don't know how you guys feel about AI troubleshooting but for me it just confused me, it says no driver is bound to device i2c-ELAN071A:00 but no matter what it suggested to do it never worked
I am running a dual boot with windows if it matters.
