Kernel panic

Yesterday my laptop suddenly showed what looked like a “blue screen of death” similar to Windows (kernel panic) with a QR code.
I didn’t think much of it, but today I’ve experienced multiple freezes or black screens similar to a tty with a blinking _ cursor.
I tried digging around, but I finally got a full kernel panic with the report linked below.

System

Model: ASUS Zenbook 14 UM425(AMD Ryzen 5 5500U)
Kernel: 6.17.5-arch1-1

Symptoms

Somewhat frequent black screens under load (Firefox or Wayland session running).
Finally had a full kernel panic with the screen turning blue and a QR code shown:

Could this be a failing NVMe drive, or a firmware/kernel power-management bug?

Thank you for your replies!

Re: Kernel panic

There're massive IO errors w/ the nvme, see  https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Solid_ … leshooting but first check  https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Solid_ … NVMe#SMART (probably from some live distro like grml?)
