F1 (mute) led light doesn't work on Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen 13

System: Arch with Gnome

$ uname -a
Linux base-arch-2 6.17.6-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed, 29 Oct 2025 22:23:47 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Tried what was suggested here but it didn't work

I can switch the led on and off using:

$ echo 1 | sudo tee /sys/class/leds/platform::mute/brightness
1
$ echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/class/leds/platform::mute/brightness
0

The system is fully updated as per Oct 2025. The firmware is up to date as well.

How can I make led work when I actually mute / unmute the sound? Anyone else has this issue?

This fully works with F4 (mic on / off) - the led there works as intended out of the box.

Thanks all

Not sure I understand how this is related. Keyboard backlight works fine.
