sorry but I can't open a gitlab issue, btw here with a "02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP106 [GeForce GTX 1060 6GB] (rev a1)"
using:
- nvidia-dkms 580.105.08-1
- nvidia-utils 580.105.08-1
both my monitors (using HDMI) aren't able to go over 1920x1080 (always had 2560x1080).
downgrading to 580.95.05-1 fixes the issue.

Did you save "xrandr --verbose" or the edid-decode loop for the 580.105.08 ?
From what's there it looks like you (the driver) don't have/use any EDID information at all.

hyprctl monitors only show the max supported resolution is 1920x1080 on the new drivers.
even tested xorg on both drivers:
on the old 580.95.05-1 everything works as expected.
on the new 580.105.08-1 max res is 1920x1080.

Hello, yesterday I filed a bug report with Nvidia on this and posted in their feedback thread: I had two ultra wide monitors unable to expose the native 2560x1080 resolution under 580.105.08.
EDID showed for both monitors:

...Nvidia asked to turn on ModeDebug in /etc/X11/xorg.conf (can use
nvidia-xconfig --mode-debug., restart, and provide resulting /var/log/Xorg.0.log
The resulting log for me shows the 2560x1080 resolution "Mode is rejected: PixelClock (185.6 MHz) too high for Display Device (Max: 165.0 MHz)" which is incorrect, as EDID confirms the monitor supports the this mode and a max dotclock of 250 Mhz. The 165 MHz limit seems artificially imposed by the driver.
the error is on both of my monitors (HDMI-4 and DP-6).
I've provided the log to my bug report and for now downgrading to 580.95.05 has made the monitors work as expected.
