Packages moved to AUR... in this case maliit-keyboard [Solved]

A package I was using had suddenly gone into AUR. Not a big problem for me as there are alternatives or I can simply build it and move on.

I cannot check this morning as AUR is down again but I seem to remember there is no comment on the package as to the reason why it has been dropped. Have feeling it is the whole qt5-6 transition but it would be nice to make users aware.

Maintainers are very busy people but so are forum mods am sure this will save a lot of posts like this one and valuable gaming time!

Re: Packages moved to AUR... in this case maliit-keyboard [Solved]

https://github.com/archlinux/aur/tree/maliit-keyboard
https://archlinux.org/news/recent-services-outages/ (how to clone from there)

Also still in https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … t-keyboard
No idea why it was dropped into the AUR but despite some minor fixes the last upstream release was in https://github.com/maliit/keyboard and since it still requires Qt5 it's probably dead?

TLDR

Am guessing it is qt related....

Plsama is making leaps and it just takes time for things to catch up...

Might add a note if AUR comes back....

Thanks

Also alongside maliit disappearing plasma-keyboard is now in official repo. It looks like mostly the same thing aside from complete lack of anything resembling arrow keys.

Then you made changes to the PKGBUILD or got it from somewhere else then the aur.
Only you know which of those is true and why you did that.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

pacman -Qi maliit-keyboard

(Maybe there was a build in the testing or kde-unstable repo?)

Please use

tags, not "quote" tags. Edit your post in this regard.

Package is actually still in gitlab, see the history: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … n/PKGBUILD

AUR(2.3.1-3) is one commit behind gitlab version(2.3.1-4).
