[SOLVED] wifi device not recognised after mkinitcpio

I am using a Thinkpad E16 G2 with Realtek Wifi adapter. I have LUKS without LVM and UKI with systemd-boot. I created a swapfile put it into /etc/fstab also put the resume hook and resume params into /etc/kernel/cmdline as required by UKI. Then created new UKI by mkinitcpio -P. The hibernation worked then but wifi device was no longer recognised.
I then reverted the changes but this did not fix the issue.

Most likely explanation is that you're not booting the installed kernel:

Did you do a full shutdown, not just a reboot? It sounds like the hibernation could have left the adapter in a bad state, a reboot wouldn't reset it.

Poweroff solved the problem thank you very much. Do you also have any recommendations on preventing hibernation from messing up the device?

Unfortunately, that's all down the the driver AFAIK. Most wifi drivers have some power management options, you might be able to find something there that could help, but I'm not familiar with them.
