Random full screen tear on XOrg with picom

I'm experiencing a strange fullscreen tearing issue on my machine. Most of the time everything works fine, but sometimes after I run `startx`, I get severe tearing across the screen.

If I kill `picom`, the issue mostly goes away, but it still affects certain apps, like `mpv` and Electron-based apps. I often have to restart my computer multiple times before the problem resolves itself. Even if I remove `picom` from my `.xinitrc, the tearing still occurs, though I don’t notice it until I launch one of the affected apps.

If I run `startx` immediately after boot, the tearing happens almost every time. If I wait a few minutes before running it, the issue becomes less frequent, but it still pops up occasionally. Also, if I have two monitors connected, the tearing is almost always present and impossible to resolve.

I’m not sure where to start troubleshooting, especially since the issue is so random.
