I may be talking bs and I'm not an expert nor I have a steam deck but just for "sanity check": Maybe you have to install these packages (if you not already have them):
pipewire pipewire-alsa pipewire-jack pipewire-pulse alsa-utils wireplumber
I do use wiremix to select/switch the audio outputs in my Desktop, but again, I have no idea how steam deck works.

Please post your complete system journal for the boot:
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.stOffline
okay Its done I hope I can trust you I dont really know what data the system journal has
Offline
You'll still have to post the URL ![]()
The journal isn't supposed to hold any sensitive data, sudo gets audited unconditionally so if your typed sensitive information into sudo instead of a command, that's bad.
The overall data will allow to fingerprint and track you, ie. if you keep posting journals around the internet it will be possible to link your various accounts - not sure what to do with that, though.

I also started having audio issue with my steam deck running arch (lcd version). It used to work but now perhaps a couple of weeks ago, the built-in audio device disappeared. I can see this in my dmesg:
platform acp5x_mach.0: deferred probe pending: acp5x_mach: Register card (acp5x) failed
And I do have the soc firmware installed (audio used to work just fine before). I also sent my journal 0x0.st - it seems to have appended it to the previously uploaded journal data.

OK, just tested kernel-lts and the audio device is back. So there is something wrong with the current kernel.
Offline
6.18 will move out of the testing repo in the near future.
If it still has that bug you'd have to bisect kernels (eg. test the last 6.16 and first 6.17)
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_Linux_Archive
Offline
Are 6.16, 6.17 available somewhere or do I need to compile the kernel?
6.18 (from testing) is the one that has this problem.

Celebrated too early. linux-lts finds the device and does not give any errors but there is no audio output. So there was 6.17 or 6.18 where everything worked. I will check.
Offline
Also I found this from gentoo forums:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8 … 729d95d639
Most likely related. Unfortunately, it was not immediately clear to me how they fixed it...

Sigh... noise.. wrong alarm. No change when enabling IOMMU in bios.
