Lots of problems after Testing > Current Move.

I get all these errors saying packages are newer than repo.  It's been like this for a good 24 hours now, so the mirrors _should_ be sync'd.  I use the ftp.archlinux.org mirror, and many others on IRC are complaining of the same problems.

I use that mirror and had same issues until I cleared the cache:

# pacman -Scc

Re: Lots of problems after Testing > Current Move.

Thanks, that fixed all of it except the current repo.

:: icon-naming-utils: local (0.8.2-1) appears to be newer than repo (current/0.8.1-1)
:: nspr: local (4.6.6-1) appears to be newer than repo (current/4.6.5-1)
:: nss: local (3.11.5-1) appears to be newer than repo (current/3.11.4-1)
:: python: local (2.5-3) appears to be newer than repo (current/2.5-2)
:: startup-notification: local (0.9-1) appears to be newer than repo (current/0.8-4)

EDIT: On second take, I tried -Syu a second time, and it does the same thing again.  And almost everytime I  -Syu it has to resync each repo, almost as if the mirror is going wacky.

EDIT2: It's strange, almost every time I -Syu I get a different result.  Now it's all working dandy, and then five minutes later I can -Syu again and it will shoot errors.

EDIT3: And back to square one once again...

EDIT4: I'm starting to wonder if the pkg db on the server side for each repo is messed up, and that is what is causing these problems.

Re: Lots of problems after Testing > Current Move.

And you have ftp.archlinux.org setup for _each_ of the repos?

Then we have the same config and had the same issues...probably a db issue. I fixed mine with a total cache wipe but it would appear that workaround does not give consistent results.

People really shouldn't use ftp.archlinux.org - it's already under heavy stress with rsync'ing - choose a geographically local mirror to you and you'll get better results.

Indeed, but people are using it since there are problems, and it's the only way to ensure to have all those changes which have been done.
I also always change to archlinux.org if i experience package / db problems by using the mirror of my choice.

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

Re: Lots of problems after Testing > Current Move.

I just did a update this afternoon and apart from one package that wouldn't play ball and needed to be forced all went well with no problems so far, everything seems to be working fine.
Should mention that I use a local .au mirror and rarely have any troubles with.

Re: Lots of problems after Testing > Current Move.

Just wait until the mirrors are up2date. Then the "errors" are gone...
