pam_fscrypt error when unlocking screen in KDE Plasma 6.5.4

I followed the instructions from
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Fscrypt#PAM_module

However, when unlocking the screen in KDE Plasma 6.5.4, I see the following message in journalctl:

pam_fscrypt: Authenticate(map[]) failed: setting groups: operation not permitted

At the same time, the screen briefly turns off and on during unlock.
How can this be fixed or avoided?
