recordmydesktop problem....

Hi,
I installed with pacman recordmydesktop (in community) and when I try to run it I get:

Initial recording window is set to:

XDamage extension not found!!!

Clearly I have that extension installed:

I then tried compiling it from source and after everything was completed with no errors I got the same error.
I even tried using the gtk-frontend but it exits with the same error of no XDamage found.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
