KDE Plasma - tearing/artifacts when moving desktop icons around,

Hi, I'm experiencing graphical glitches in KDE Plasma when dragging desktop icons around. I'm not sure how to describe them, but they take the form of a trail of artifacts or maybe screen tearing.
They remain until I move the icon over them or until I drop the icon, at which point they all disappear. I've attached an image showing how it looks like.

I don't think it's a GPU driver issue. It's a fresh install on an AMD-based PC build, but just to be sure, I've updated Mesa drivers.
I've also tried switching between OpenGL and Vulcan in kcmshell6 settings, but it didn't work. I'm a complete newbie in the linux environment, and nothing else really comes to mind.

I would appreciate some help.
